THE WORDS DON'T MEAN A LOT
OUT APRIL 17TH
One Nine Eight's debut EP is the culmination of the distinct sound the band has made its name from. Inspired by elements of nu-metal, grunge and shoegaze; it showcases the band's versatility, skill and personality like nothing they have ever released.
BIO
One Nine Eight originally began as the backing band of frontman Harrison Gray, gaining some traction around Glasgow with songs like “Caught Thinking”. After realising the chemistry between himself, guitarist Charlie Beaton, bassist Julian Lyon and drummer James Kealy, they decided to become an official group. With a combined love for 90’s grunge, nu-metal and alternative rock, the group have been smashing out indie rock bangers with an edgy, heavy twist. The band is entirely self-produced, creating their songs from a home studio in East Kilbride using only their own knowledge, resources and love of music.
As a group they have released 4 singles, appearing on the BBC Radio 1 Billy Sloan Show, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. With over 12,000 streams on Spotify the band are one of the fastest growing in Glasgow, now gearing up for a headline show at King Tuts after a successful headline debut at Room 2 and supporting Single by Sunday at The Garage.
The band is unmatched live, with screaming guitars, gut-punching rhythms and passionate vocals combining to create a powerful show. The boys use their electrifying sound and down-to-earth personality to get the crowd going like no other.
